Brentford fans will be thinking this could be a tough season now and they’re one of the top few teams fancied for relegation as the transfer window continues to take toll.

Yoanne Wissa, Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Norgaard, all of whom were big parts of their decent season last year despite Ivan Toney departing, are all huge losses for the side.

Wissa is still a Brentford player for now but if he does go to Newcastle, the 19 goals scored last season will be tough to find a replacement for this late on.

This gives Aston Villa huge potential to win nicely, despite Brentford making a few decent summer signings.

Aston Villa to dominate away from home

Villa are tipped to do quite well this season and despite their best efforts Brentford may be prone to a strong away side.

Villa settled for a 0-0 draw against Newcastle but that is still a valuable point in the grand scheme of things, especially after going down to ten men.

They’re capable of better and didn’t pose the threat up top you’d expect of them.

But that could be more of a case of how well Newcastle set up against them, and were in the end unfortunate not to get the win themselves.

Ollie Watkins gets his account underway

Watkins continually nets 11+ goals every season for Villa.

The former Brentford striker even netted 26 goals in the second tier for the west London side before his move in 2020.

Just one game in and not much of a chance on goal for Villa, Watkins will be keen to get his scoring underway once more.

In his last three seasons he’s topped his tally of Premier League goals in a single season twice. Achieving his second best tally last year with 16 goals in 38 appearances.

Watkins has a habit of scoring against his former side too, with six goals netted in just seven appearances in the Premier League.
