Darren Till brutally knocks Luke Rockhold out cold with sickening left hand to claim dominant Misfits 22 win

Darren Till finished Misfits 22 in style with a dramatic knockout win over Luke Rockhold.

Till wobbled his fellow ex-UFC star twice and left no doubt over his performance after dropping his opponent in the third round, leaving the referee with no choice but to stop the fight.

After an energetic start, the 32-year-old from Liverpool caught Rockhold with an incredible combination before leaving him grounded with a picture-perfect left hand.

“I feel fantastic,” Till said after his victory, before admitting he has been a fan of Rockhold his entire career, paying his respects to the American after months of back-and-forth trash talk.

‘The Gorilla’ then called out retired British boxing star Carl Froch for a fight down the line.

Also at Misfits 22 at Manchester’s AO Arena on Saturday night, Joey Essex outpointed Portuguese influencer Numeiro, while UFC legend Tony Ferguson rolled back the years to stop Salt Papi.

Till is now three wins from three under the MFB banner, having overcome Anthony Taylor and Darren Stewart earlier this year.

The Liverpudlian is eyeing an even bigger name for his next fight towards the end of 2025 as arguably the face of the company right now.

He has previously been in talks to meet fellow ex-UFC fighters like Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal in the squared circle, but those fights never came to fruition.

‘The Gorilla’ made a successful switch from MMA to boxing last year with a stoppage win over Mohammad Mutie in an exhibition bout.

This followed a seven-year stint in the UFC, where he won six of his 12 bouts with one draw, challenging Tyron Woodley for the welterweight title at the peak of his powers in September 2018.

Till told talkSPORT.com in January that he ‘relishes’ the thought of making a UFC return, but is also happy with being a company man at MFB, where he will stay put for now.

Rockhold, meanwhile, is a former UFC middleweight champion, having won the belt by finishing Chris Weidman at UFC 194 in December 2015.

The Californian left the UFC in January 2023, trying his hand at BKFC for bare-knuckle boxing and Karate Combat, before making his pro boxing debut.

He told talkSPORT.com ahead of his MFB debut that a fight with Till was the ‘perfect way’ to start his boxing career.

The Californian called the sport his ‘last art of fighting’ that needed to be perfected.

But it seems the 40-year-old will now have to go back to the drawing board and reevaluate his next steps in the world of combat.
