Deion Sanders won’t approve of mic’d up Shedeur as Browns QB shows off trait he learned from Tom Brady

Shedeur Sanders made his long-awaited NFL debut in the Cleveland Browns’ first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.

He had a very successful debut, but it’s who Sanders was talking to throughout the game that caught a lot of people’s attention.

Sanders went 14-23 for 138 yards and two touchdowns, but fans were more focused on his Tom Brady-esque commentary with the officials after the Browns released their Mic’d Up video.

The young rookie can be seen throughout the clip talking and listening to the referee and game officials, offering his respect and appreciation.

“I’ll be working with you tonight, okay,” head referee Clay Martin told Sanders. “I’ll talk to you out of TV [timeout], I’m always going to give you ten seconds.”

Martin went over more procedural information with Sanders, as the 21-year-old took it all in before kickoff.

“We’re going to work slow, if you need anything, just holler,” Martin continued. “We work together through this thing, that’s what you’re going to learn. We’ll go as slow as we need to.”

Sanders dapped up the officials and went on his way.

“He’s a natural born leader. Do you see how he addressed the refs in the beginning,” one fan commented online.

“The refs like him, his teammates like him, and he balled,” another chimed in.

“Wow I didn’t expect the refs to be so encouraging and genuine,” one more added.

Tom Brady helped guide Shedeur Sanders

It’s no secret that Brady took Sanders under his wing the last couple of years, so seeing Sanders build a good rapport with the officials shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Brady did it his entire career, and it almost always worked to his advantage. Whether it was manipulation or not, is up for interpretation.

Later during the game, with Sanders’ day done, he had a conversation with another official who had actually worked his first college game at Jackson State in the SWAC.

It was a heartwarming moment as the two exchanged pleasantries.

Deion Sanders hates profanity

What may not be as heartwarming is the phone call or text that Shedeur may or may not have received from his father, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, for his son’s use of profanity through the Mic’d Up clip.

The Hall of Famer is famously known to not be a fan of curse words.

His son sprinkled in a few expletives during the 12-minute long video released by the team. Harmless of course, but something his father probably didn’t love.

NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......

Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?

Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?

Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more

Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?

Of course these are grown men playing a professional and extremely physical sport. There will be cursing, there will be trash-talking, that’s all part of the game.

At the end of the day, the elder Sanders just wants his son to ball, he probably isn’t too concerned what comes out of his mouth when he’s between the lines.

After all, the young Sanders is in the battle of his life to make the Browns roster and even nab the starting role sometime in the future.

Profanity be damned.
