Jonathan Kuminga Prefers $7.9M Qualifying Offer Over Warriors' Current Terms

Jonathan Kuminga has communicated to those close to him that he would prefer to sign the Golden State Warriors' $7.9 million qualifying offer rather than their current two-year, $45 million offer, sources tell ESPN.
Golden State presented the offer with a team option in the second season and the request that he waive his inherent no-trade clause in the deal as a way for Kuminga to receive more money while also making him more tradeable during the season.
Kuminga doesn't want such a team-friendly deal and as the possibility of being traded midseason is unappealing.
Kuminga has been seeking a contract this offseason where he would be clearly valued as a long-term building block either with the Warriors or another team.
If talks continue to stall, Kuminga has until October 1st to sign the qualifying offer.
