Man City vs Spurs predictions

Manchester City have started strong and look to continue their winning ways up against a Spurs side that look rejuvenated compared to last season.

Tottenham finished 17th last season just one place above the relegation zone.

No one would have believed they would occupy that spot at this stage last season and even less so that they’d also go on to win the Europa League.

Can Man City continue winning ways?

Manchester City won 4-0 against Wolves in their opening clash of the 2025/26 season.

But there were points Wolves looked capable of putting themselves back into the match, including a couple of goals that were ruled out for offside that would have made it 1-1.

However, Man City ended up being ruthless in a couple of minutes going 2-0 up by the 37th minute thanks to Erling Haaland and new signing Tijjani Reijnders.

Other new signing Rayan Cherki also netted and it seems there’s just a plethora of players that can be involved on the score sheet, including Omar Marmoush, Bernardo Silva, Oscar Bobb and more.

Tottenham did win this fixture last year in November 4-0, though both sides look entirely different now but let’s not rule them out entirely from making an impact, at least getting a goal back.

Tottenham won’t make it easy

In their worst Premier League season Tottenham finished 17th last year yet still beat Man City early on.

Thomas Frank will be keen to approach this with the right kind of tactics to limit Man City’s attacking ability.

I can see this ending in a draw as a result. Tottenham look better defensively and Wolves were prone to multiple attacks making it too easy for City at times.

Spurs look better defensively now and with the likes of Richarlison finding consistent and confident form, they also look like they hold a bit more ability to strike back.

They still scored 64 last season but conceded 65 – and there could be goals galore in this game as a result, especially looking at the way they faced PSG strongly.
