Muhammad Ali’s grandson flattens rival in stunning KO as he bounces back after losing undefeated record

Biaggio Ali Walsh returned to the MMA winning column with a booming KO on the latest PFL bill.
Ali Walsh, grandson of boxing’s greatest fighter of all-time Muhammad Ali, returned to the cage under the PFL promotional banner at the World Tournament 9 in North Carolina.
It was an important moment in the MMA career of Ali Walsh, having lost for the first time in his last outing in June where he was submitted by Ronnie Gibbs.
The 26-year-old is one of the PFL’s most high profile names and took on American debutant Adryan Grundy.
It was a difficult start to the fight for Walsh was easing his way back into proceedings.
But his boxing ability caught light in the third round as he upped the ante.
His combinations became relentless and he landed at will on the helpless Grundy.
But as he retreated, Ali Walsh landed a booming right hook which sent his rival stumbling to the canvas.
He was put flat on his back and Ali Walsh unleashed some big strikes which hit the target at will.
The referee quickly jumped in and ended the barrage, with Ali Walsh barely celebrating.
It was an extremely important victory and it ensured he didn’t begin a losing skid after his first defeat earlier this year.
The MMA world were full of praise for Walsh who has a bright future ahead of him.
His godfather and legendary rapper Flavor Flav reacted: “I’m really proud of him because he took his time. He fought a really good fight and he had patience.
“Last night, I was talking to Biaggio about patience, and that’s the one thing that I have when it comes down to patience.
“I’d rather have patience than be in the hospital is one of them.”
How did Biaggio Ali Walsh get into MMA?
Ali Walsh has had a difficult run into combat sports, given the added pressure of the ‘Ali’ name.
Ali’s other grandson Nico Ali Walsh is competing in boxing and he has felt the same challenges, having fallen to two defeats himself.
It is an added pressure, but the PFL star insists he wants to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps by becoming a champion.
He previously told talkSPORT: “[I want to be] a champion.
“Any kind of belt, so that I can help inspire people. Coming from the background I have and the pressure that I have.
Being Muhammad Ali‘s grandson I have a lot of pressure, and I’m sure a lot of people wonder how I deal with that pressure.
“So if I become an MMA world champion someday, I could give those kind of answers.”
