Bet of the Day – Charlton to beat QPR @ 29/20

Chartlon make the trip across London to face QPR at Loftus Road in the Championship and the Addicks rate a cracking bet to take the three points. 

It’s been a mixed start to the campaign for Nathan Jones’ men, who would have been disappointed to lose at Cambridge in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, but Charlton have beaten Watford and taken a point against Bristol City in the Championship this term. 

The south Londoners lost 1-0 at home to Leicester last weekend, but they were the better team in that contest, and in fact, Jones’ side have won the shot count in all five of their matches this term. 

The new second-tier season is only three games old, but Charlton are fourth-best on the expected goals numbers and QPR have been awful in the opening exchanges. 

Rangers were crushed 7-1 at Coventry last weekend, lost 2-1 at Watford, and were knocked out of the EFL Cup at Plymouth.

The only point Julien Stephan’s men have collected this term came when the Hoops were second-best in a 1-1 draw with Preston. 

Longshot of the Day – Kevin Schade to score first in Sunderland v Brentford @ 7/1

Brentford lost manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham in the summer and key forward Bryan Mbeumo made a big-money move to Manchester United. 

Those departures lead to plenty of talk of struggles for the Bees this season, but Keith Andrews’ men got the better of Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend before winning at Bournemouth in the EFL Cup in midweek. 

The west Londoners look to have strong claims of three points at Sunderland on Saturday and Kevin Schade could be the man to fire them on their way.

The 23-year-old scored 11 Premier League goals last term, in what was a breakout campaign, and it shouldn’t be long before he opens his account this season. 

At 7/1, Schade is fancied to score the first goal of the game at the Stadium of Light. 

Special of the Day – Bolton, Ipswich & Cambridge treble @ 4/1 

Bolton have won only one of their opening five League One fixtures, but the Trotters have been performing far better than their results suggest and Steven Schumacher’s men can record an overdue success at Blackpool.

It has been a stuttering start for Ipswich back in the Championship, but the Suffolk side are bankers against Derby. 

Cambridge complete this treble, as fresh from their midweek cup heroics, they should have no problem beating a poor Newport side in League Two.
