Bet of the Day – Brighton to beat Manchester City @ 27/10

Manchester City were all at sea when losing 2-0 to Tottenham at the Etihad last weekend and it’s not difficult to have reservations about Pep Guardiola’s side. 

The Citizens collected 71 Premier League points last term, but that was only 10 more than Albion and City don’t appear to be in any better shape at the start of this campaign. 

Kevin De Bruyne left in the summer, Ederson is out of favour and it remains to be seen if Rodri can return to his peak following a serious injury. 

Guardiola selected a back five of James Trafford, Ruben Dias, John Stones, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rico Lewis in the defeat to Spurs and that rearguard looks extremely vulnerable. 

Brighton beat City 2-1 at the Amex last term and held the Citizens to a 2-2 draw at the Etihad in the reverse fixture and Fabian Hurzeler’s men look well capable of upsetting Guardiola’s men on Sunday. 

Longshot of the Day – 2-2 correct score in Rangers v Celtic @ 10/1 

Celtic’s poor effort when failing to score in two legs of the Champions League play-off with Kairat has been overshadowed by Rangers’ abysmal start to the campaign, and you could make a case for any result in Sunday’s Old Firm clash.

The Gers were crushed 9-1 on aggregate by Club Brugge in their Champions League play-off and Russell Martin’s men have failed to win any of their opening three Scottish Premiership matches. 

It is tricky to fancy Rangers at Ibrox, but Celtic have lost Nicolas Kuhn from last season’s squad, while Jota and Alistair Johnston are out with long-term injuries. 

That’s a huge absence of quality from Brendan Rodgers’ squad and taking a punt on a crazy contest could pay dividends. 

There have been 32 goals in the last nine Old Firm games and a 2-2 correct score at Ibrox looks a good 10/1 option. 

Special of the Day – Aston Villa, over 3.5 goals in Liverpool v Arsenal & Dundee United treble @ 12/1 

Crystal Palace’s small squad faces a swift turnaround from Thursday’s trip to Norway and the Eagles could be grounded by hosts Aston Villa at Villa Park. 

Liverpool’s opening two Premier League matches have finished in 4-2 and 3-2 victories and there doesn’t seem to be any thought of defence from the champions this term.

Therefore, Arsenal may be dragged into a ding-dong Anfield battle and over 3.5 goals looks a bet. 

Dundee have failed to win any of their opening three Scottish Premiership matches and the Dark Blues were limited to only one shot on target at Kilmarnock last time out.

With that in mind, Dundee United can secure the derby honours at Dens Park.
