Blake Lively's Team Claims Justin Baldoni Wants to Release Her Deposition

Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of trying to release her recent deposition.

According to a motion filed by Lively’s lawyer and obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, August 4, the actress’ team claimed that Baldoni, 41, attempted to upload the full “292-page transcript” to the public docket the same day they received it.

“There is no conceivable legal purpose to file the whole transcript, particularly given that it has not been reviewed, corrected or finalized, and a mere two pages of it were cited in their argument,” the letter read.

Lively’s lawyers claimed that the move was “a manufactured excuse to force the transcript into the public domain as fodder for the Wayfarer Defendants’ media campaign.”

Lively has asked the judge to strike the rough draft of her deposition from the court record, as the motion to seal it is pending. Lively’s lawyer argued that Baldoni and his team’s “false narrative” that the actress is “afraid of her deposition testimony becoming public” is “entirely untrue and deeply harmful.”

“Ms. Lively affirmatively pursued this litigation with the full intention and desire to have her testimony heard in a legal process, governed by the rules of evidence — which publicly filing this rough draft transcript in this manner substantially undermines,” the letter continued. “To suggest otherwise is part of an ongoing character attack that Mr. Freedman has been advancing to undermine Ms. Lively’s credibility and taint the jury pool.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Baldoni for comment.

Lively attended her deposition with Baldoni’s lawyers on Thursday, July 31, in New York City after its initial July 17 date was postponed. Lively and Baldoni’s teams agreed to the change after social media guru Jed Wallace was dismissed from the case for jurisdictional reasons.

Us reported that Baldoni was in the room on Thursday for the legal matter.

Lively and Baldoni’s ongoing legal battle started in December 2024 when the actress accused her It Ends With Us costar and director of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and orchestrating a smear campaign against her.

Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations. He subsequently countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane, accusing them of extortion and defamation. The group denied the accusations. In June, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds and Sloane.

Judge Rules Blake Lively’s Emotional Distress Claims a Dead Issue Amid Drama

Lively addressed her legal win in a statement to Us, saying, “The Court dismissed the frivolous $400 million Baldoni-Wayfarer lawsuit in its entirety. In the days that followed, Baldoni’s lawyer said the judge’s decision to dismiss their case was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. As per usual, that was not true. The Court’s dismissal of Baldoni’s sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.”

Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, also shared a statement with Us stating that they were not giving up amid their legal setback.

“The Court’s decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively’s claims,” the statement read. “Discovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations. Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.”

Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni is scheduled for a March 2026 trial.
