Harry Kane comments on Luis Diaz ‘problem’ following £70million Bayern Munich transfer

Harry Kane believes the language barrier between Luis Diaz and his new Bayern Munich teammates will not be an issue.
Diaz joined Bayern last week in a deal worth £65.5million, as he left Liverpool following three years at the club.
The Colombian had some struggles speaking English throughout his time in the Premier League, notably at the start of his spell.
Jürgen Klopp once questioned how he spoke with the other players at Anfield after his transfer from Porto in 2022.
And that has raised concerns that Diaz could now have issues communicating with his new Bayern teammates.
However, after being asked how he is able to chat with the squad, Kane was positive about him settling in well.
The striker said to Sky Sports Germany: “His English is okay, obviously there’s not many players in the team who talk Spanish.
“But honestly, his English isn’t too bad and he can communicate well with the team.
“Hopefully, his English and maybe his German picks up from some and some of the others players can talk to him.
“But with the coach [Vincent Kompany] talking English a lot of the time, I don’t think he has a problem.”
German outlet BILD reported that Diaz spent a lot of his time in his first training session with Portuguese international João Palhinha.
Palhinha can speak Spanish, so he has been acting as a makeshift translator for his new pal since he signed.
Lost in translation
One concern for Diaz though, is that Palhinha is set to leave Bayern.
After receiving so much help from the midfielder in his first few days, he is nearing a move to the Premier League.
talkSPORT understands that Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign the former Fulham man on loan with an option to buy.
Spurs’ option to make the move permanent stands at £26million.
The 30-year-old played no part in a friendly against Lyon on Saturday amid the speculation over his future at the club.
So, it seems Diaz is now going to lose his translator.
Making his mark
In the friendly against French side Lyon, Bayern came away 2-1 winners, with Diaz playing the entire second half.
And Kane threw plenty of praise onto the ex-Liverpool winger after he made his first appearance for his new club.
“I thought he did great today,” the England captain said post-match.
“Obviously in training, we’ve only spent a couple of sessions together, but he looks hungry, he looks sharp.
“It looks like he’s happy to be here, he plays with a smile on his face and I thought today you can see he’s very effective in the final third.
“We’re going to need him this season, so it’s exciting to have him.”
